The Staff

At EyeWorks, we believe that staff training and education leads to better patient care. Many of our opticians and clinic assistants hold and maintain national certifications. Our staff also attend national meetings to stay up-to-date with the latest in eye care, eyewear fashion, and education to better serve our patients.

Practice Administrator

As a freshly minted English Lit BA, Kari’s first job was in administrative work at the Illinois Eye Institute—the same clinic attached to the Illinois College of Optometry where her new husband and doctor-to-be was working toward his degree. Thanks to her experiences there and in other clinical settings, Kari has been groomed for smoothly running a thriving practice. When she’s not keeping the gears meshing at EyeWorks, she and her husband, Dr. Higley, are raising their two active little girls—lovingly referred to as “the Higlets”—and maybe, sometimes, binging on carbs, cheese, and Netflix.

Nina has been with EyeWorks for the past decade as an ABO certified optician. She's been in the eye care business for over twenty years, with duties ranging from insurance billing, optometric assisting, and contact lens dispensing, to all aspects of opticianry work. The main goal of EyeWorks is to make sure that our clients receive the very best quality eyewear, and Nina uses her expertise to make this experience as enjoyable as possible. She uses her love of fashion and art to keep the EyeWorks frame inventory at a cutting-edge level. You'll find everything from the very classic to the newest trends among the frames we offer. Nina enjoys spending time with her son, Nick, biking, swimming, and going to the beach!

Robin ABOC

Robin joined the EyeWorks the team as an optician in 2015. She has always had an interest in the medical field and appreciates the unique mix of fashion, medicine, and patient care that opticianry offers. She majored in pre-med at Hawaii Pacific University and Cell Biology at the University of Kansas. Robin spends most of her time with family and friends, and enjoys taking hikes with her dog Sampson.

Aurielle, a Keene native, was a patient at EyeWorks for 20+ years before joining us as an optician. Her BA in Environmental Conservation may have something to do with her ability to see simple solutions to complex challenges. In her off-hours, Aurielle is happiest cheering on the Boston Bruins with her husband Nick, and their pups Frank and Dave (who are also hockey fans).

Brittany was studying to become a medical assistant when she realized that she prefers making perfect pairings of lenses and frames for EyeWorks patients. When she’s not flashing her dazzling smile here, she’s spending time with her daughter Kyra, cooking, camping and enjoying friends and family.

Tracie CPO

Optometric Technician

Tracie served in US Air Force Intelligence Operations, but that’s as much as can be said about that. Becoming a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant did not appear on her radar though until 2015 when she decided to pursue a career that would allow her to connect on a more personal level with people. Tracie says her time in the service gave her an appreciation for working in a team, and it is her mission here to give each patient outstanding care. When not capturing remarkable images of eyes with the latest technology, Tracie enjoys painting with acrylics on canvas. She makes awesome peanut butter buckeyes too.

Carrie CPOA

Optometric Technician

Carrie joined the EyeWorks team in 2004 where her deep commitment to health and fitness has been central to her success with patients. Her degree in psychology also allows Carrie to skillfully set patients at ease throughout their exams and to put a smile on their faces along the way. In her off hours, she might be found training for her next half-marathon (that’s 13.1 miles) or exploring hiking trails in and around the region with her husband, two children, and two dogs.

Insurance & Billing Specialist

Tammy came to EyeWorks in 2018 with oodles of experience in the complicated world of insurance and billing. When not here facilitating, answering or calculating, she’s often with her husband motorcycling in “The Whites”, camping, cooking over an outdoor griddle or (weather permitting) watching the snowfall.

Patient Coordinator

Sandra is new to the area, but she is not at all new to greeting patients with her warm Southern-gal smile, having spent much of her career working in hospitals. She enjoys helping others both at work and after work, and loves long walks, a good book, and chocolate, which she generously shares with the rest of the team.
