Barton Higley, OD

Optometrist

When Dr. Higley began practicing, he made it his goal to truly connect with his patients so that he could empathize with them. “As I learn more about my patients’ lives—who they are and what they do—I am able to address their eye care challenges with more care and precision, which helps improve their quality of life. That’s what eye care is really all about!”

More about Dr. Higley, OD.

Dr. Higley believes education is a life-long endeavor when it comes to practicing optometry. It’s important for him to stay updated on the latest research, technology, and shifts in practice standards to best serve his patients. Dr. Higley received his Bachelor of Science at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and Doctor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry.

Dr. Higley, his wife, Kari, their two daughters, and their pup Birdie appreciate all the Monadnock Region has to offer. During his free time, he enjoys hiking with friends and family, kayaking, watching movies, playing the guitar, mountain biking, working on fitness, and playing with his daughters.

Nicole Leo OD, FAAO

Optometrist

Dr. Nicole Leo first discovered her passion for optometry during college. “I was taking various biology, neuro, and perception courses. Optometry was a field I initially considered as it combined all my interests. My interest later grew during my residency, where I was able to participate in clinical research trials and in providing emergency eye care to patients. I enjoy practicing in a way that combines both the science and research behind care and applying it to patient care. I’m thrilled to be doing what I love in the Monadnock Region.”

More about Dr. Leo OD, FAAO.

Dr. Leo, an optometrist specializing in primary care and ocular disease, graduated from optometry school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After graduating from optometry school, Dr. Leo went on to complete an ocular disease residency at Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates in Havre de Grace, MD. During her time there, she received extensive training in primary eye care, pre-operative and post-operative care, and ocular urgencies/emergencies.

In her free time, Dr. Leo enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family. She appreciates the many trails around her home in the Monadnock Region for hiking and running.
